Our verdict

The best desk-to-run hybrid — as long as you don't need hills.

The most versatile pad here — a 47 in belt, a rail that raises for running to 7.5 mph, and a fold-in-half aluminum frame.

Ideal for

Remote workers who walk at a desk by day and want short runs without a full treadmill.

In-depth review

What it's like to own

The R2 is WalkingPad's answer to people who want one machine for desk walking and real runs. Lower the handrail and it's a 3.7 mph under-desk pad; raise it and the speed unlocks to 7.5 mph. The 47 × 17 in belt is long for a folding machine.

Storage is the trick: the aluminum deck folds in half and stands upright in a corner, taking about 39 × 28 in. There's no incline at all, which is the main reason to look elsewhere.

It's sold by KingSmith's own store. Reviews on this listing are shared across WalkingPad's R-series models going back to 2020.
